The Bethesda Global PR Director is responsible for setting overall global communications strategy & direction for Bethesda's games, brand, and internal communications. They will build and manage a top-class global PR team to drive awareness & player engagement across all our titles. They will constantly optimise communication plans & execution, work cross-functionally with Global Sales & Marketing teams, Xbox stakeholders and studio to ensure alignment for our initiatives, assets, events and Communication plans. This role reports into the Sr. Director of Content Communications at Xbox.
Location: United States (Preferred locations: Rockville, Hunt Valley, or Austin)Responsibilities
Setting and executing on communications strategy globallyLead Internal Comms efforts for Bethesda employees, in partnership with Bethesda leadershipHead up Bethesda's brand and reputation opportunities as well as crisis comms issuesPlan and prep executives for media moments and speaking opportunitiesWork in partnership with Xbox stakeholders to leverage Comms opportunities and support Xbox initiativesDrive and manage the Communication team to ensure AAA communications campaigns that reach new players and delight existing players, for all our titles globallyDeliver a cohesive PR Plan for every title that includes and aligns with the global Marketing, Community & Events strategyAbility to work on highly matrixed organizations. Build & maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders across the business including Global Marketing/Comms, Studios, Local Markets and corporate functionsEstablish an effective system of internal reporting and communication throughout the HQ and International officesManage and direct PR agency resourcesWork with Global Marketing and Xbox stakeholders to align and manage budgetsBuild and support the community team by aligning campaign efforts and working more closely together to improve consumer awareness and engagementOwn, develop and maintain relationships with all external agencies ensuring the brief and budget guidelines have been metRetain excellent relationships with all external partners via regular visits and discussions regarding the progress of each agreed campaignOversee product press events, particularly featuring senior studio and management staffAssess campaign effectiveness for all titles and implement new ideas to grow mainstream and digital coverageProactive media relationship in partnership with agency and XboxTrade show and product demonstration leadership in partnership with Global Marketing, including narrative, demos, and staffingQualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field10-15 years' experience working in public relations and/or marketing for a video game developer or publisher is essential.Familiarity with Bethesda products preferredPreferred Skills
Strong writing skills and the ability to articulate concepts, messages and strategiesEffective organization and planning skills, ability to prioritize multiple projectsEffective analytical, troubleshooting, decision making and problem-solving skillsEffective leadership skillsMust be proactive and highly motivatedProficient in all Microsoft Office productsSalary RangeGLobal PR Director - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $130,000 - $290,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
