The Accounting Manager will manage the day-to-day financial operational functions of the division, including corporate and divisional reporting requirements, SOX and internal/external audit requirements. Manage month-end-close process accurately and timely in conjunction with corporate deadlinesProvide detailed and analytical explanations of variances in actual financial data compared to forecasted resultsMaintain and review all community and site budget inputs, revisions and adjustmentsManage payroll process and ensure the accuracy of payroll submissions and the proper record retention for auditing purposesPossess complete understanding of the Accounting Policy Manual and ensure that policies are complied withReview Joint Venture financialsPrepare analysis and book land take-downsResponsible for monthly budget review and Balance Sheet PackageMonitor sales activity through weekly traffic, sales, starts and closings reportProvide weekly and monthly statistical/financial reporting to Division ManagementProjects assigned by Corporate, Division President or ControllerManage and supervise Accounting staffEnsure that associates follow company policies and proceduresInterview and recruit Accounting teamResponsible for, along with the Controller, providing associates with ongoing, timely, candid and constructive feedback; developing associates to their full potentialDevelop performance improvement plans if an associate's performance is not meeting expectationsAbility to effectively manage staff through ensuring appropriate staffing, providing formal and informal evaluations/feedback, addressing associate issues when warranted and providing appropriate training and mentoringManage month-end-close process, payable process, etcOrganize and prioritize work activities while utilizing efficient time management skills in meeting deadlines and staying on scheduleRequirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA preferredThree years minimum related accounting and financial experience, homebuilding experience preferredAdvanced computer skills - Microsoft Word and Excel, including the use of Hyperion, Essbase and JD EdwardsExcellent attention to detailProfessionally perform multiple, detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlinesExcellent communication, analytical and writing skills as well as supervisory skillsPhysical & Office/Site Presence Requirements
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry materials and supplies weighing 25 lbs or less. Finger dexterity is necessary.
Additional Requirements
Ability to professionally perform multiple, detail-orientated tasks; good written, verbal and organizational skills; able to follow directions from a supervisor.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an annual salary of $79,989.36 - $120,295, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
