Job Description
OBJECTIVES:
The Sourcing Manager supports Global Category Managers in developing and implementing procurement strategies. This role involves aggregating business needs, managing demand, advising stakeholders on procurement strategy, and influencing decision-making across spend categories.
The Sourcing Manager assists in engaging with Global Category Management teams and contributes to overall procurement value delivery. They support relationships with business partners, assist in supplier selection and negotiation processes, and ensure alignment with business objectives while optimizing costs.
Key responsibilities include understanding stakeholder priorities, providing expertise in procurement practices, and supporting the execution of Category Management projects. The Sourcing Manager also helps implement new processes and technologies and identifies continuous improvement activities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:Assist in providing measurable business value through rigorous tools, processes, and techniques.Monitor progress of requests and provide regular updates to stakeholders.Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and quality standards.Support functional and cross-functional committees or initiatives for Procurement.Assist in providing leadership on contracting trends and ensure category strategy adherence.Offer a point of escalation for Procurement matters.Support the development and implementation of category strategies and collaborate with supplier management.Foster strategic business relationships with external suppliers.Manage metrics and industry trends, presenting data to senior management.Develop and monitor KPIs, support value contribution targets, and achieve cost avoidance/savings targets.Act as a role model for Takeda values and represent Takeda at internal and external meetings.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred.
Experience:
5-7 years of strategic sourcing experience in R&D and direct materials category.Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, and/or Biotech experience preferred.Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with eSourcing tools (Ariba) and Category Management techniques.Proven success in multi-functional project support rolesDemonstrated ability to lead teams with diplomacy. Ability to adapt to other personality types in a respectful manner and willingness to accept views of others to ensure company goals are achievedDemonstrated negotiation skills and thorough knowledge of global contracting practices with the ability to analyze complex data and adopt strategies to ensure success in achieving Takeda objectives with appropriate time, quality, and cost resultsStrong problem-solving, negotiation, and strategic thinking skillsExcellent teamwork and influencing abilitiesSuperior written, oral, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to represent the company at external meetings and communicate key information to senior managementCross-cultural understanding and ability to manage internal client relationshipsLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

U.S. Base Salary Range:
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
