Job Description
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Outdoors, the Accountant assists the controllership function in our mission of timely and accurate reporting of financial results and ensuring internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively. The primary focus of this position is Capital Accounting for all Outdoors brands. In addition to this, other accounting duties may be assigned on an ad-hoc basis.

Brooking, SD; Maumee, OH; or Deerfield, IL - Hybrid
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
What you will be doingAs a key contributor in the month end closing process, you will:
Manage the accounting and reporting for fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAPRecord, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesCreate journal entries (JE's) that tie to detail supporting documentationPrepare balance sheet reconciliations by tying general ledger balance to detailed support
Investigate and determine remediation for unreconciled differences
Provide commentary and support for balance sheet changes
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting dataPrepare and review schedules for internal and external audits, responding to audit inquiriesControl owner of several key SOX controls as listed in the SOX risk and Controls MatrixProvide ad hoc reporting and analysis as neededQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required2-5 years of general accounting experience in a large corporation and/or public accountingProficient in Microsoft Office Software, specifically ExcelPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Public Accounting experience is a plusCPA certification or CPA eligible is a plusDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsStrong technical accounting skills
