Position Overview:
The candidate will lead daily standup meetings and sprint planning in a fast-paced Agile environment, oversee iterations of the Scrum process through to completion and track milestones according to schedule.
Essential Job Functions:Guides and coaches, the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team.Works with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.Acts as a leader who coaches and supports Agile teams assigned to mainly Business as Usual (BAU) work and to a lesser degree, important department initiatives and applicable portions of corporate projects and initiatives.Remove impediments and coach the teams on removing impedimentsHold team members accountable for completing tasksWork under moderate supervision. Receive guidance but also use independent judgement to accomplish job functionsRequired Experience/Qualifications:
Skilled in use of Jira, ConfluenceExemplifies and promotes Agile values and principlesOutstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skillsKnowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practicesAdept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniquesPlanning and problem solving with product management and delivery teamsBachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or universityTwo (2) years' experience solving complex Department of Defense engineering and technical problems in a senior level role.Certified Scrum Master (CSM is required, A-CSM is a plus but not required)Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
In accordance with the specifications of a government contract, eligibility for this position mandates U.S. Citizenship status and ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance. The precise security clearance requisites will be detailed in the Government's Task Order.
