Job Description:

As a Senior Accountant for Metis Practice Solutions, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our medical group. Your primary focus will be on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing essential financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making. Your expertise in accounting principles, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills will contribute to the financial success and stability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:Prepare, review, and approve monthly and quarterly financial statements, along with quantitative and qualitative analyses and notes.Coordinate the timely filing of all required tax returns and forms while providing leadership on FASB/GAAP and other reporting standards.Evaluate existing policies and procedures and recommend enhancements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and best practices.Provide effective financial consultation services, including budgeting assistance, variance analysis, and other financial insights as needed.Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify trends, highlight areas of concern, and offer recommendations for improvement.Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models.Generate financial reports for management and stakeholders, showcasing key performance indicators and financial metrics.General Accounting:

Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and adherence to accounting principles and regulations.Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data.Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.Financial Compliance and Controls:

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, including GAAP and tax regulations.Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Required.2 years in a Sr. Accountant role - Required.A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation - Preferred.Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role, preferably in the healthcare or medical industry.Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial modeling.Knowledge of medical billing and practice management systems is a plus.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.What We Offer:
