JOB OVERVIEW
The Report Developer III will be responsible for reporting analysis, requirements gathering and report development. Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of SSRS, BI, data warehouse development, and data analysis. Design, develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports that serve to provide decision support to internal and external data users. Reports will be developed using a variety of reporting tools, including SSIS, SSRS, and other BI tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ability to understand business needs and information and translate into a creative reporting solution in accordance with end user and client requirements.
• Design, develop and maintain SQL queries and support ad hoc requests for data, while adhering to departmental standards. Design, develop and maintain reports, including tabular reports, scorecards and dashboards, while adhering to departmental standards.
• Design, develop and maintain database stored procedures, while adhering to departmental standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot business process or data quality issues that show up in the reports and subsequently communicate to resolve and eliminate problems.
• Demonstrates proficiency in developing complex expressions to calculate, group, filter, parameterize, optimize and format custom reports.
• Demonstrates proficiency in developing and formatting different types of reports such as Cross-Tab, Conditional, Drill-down, Drill Through, Top N, Summary, Inline Queries, Multiple Tab and Sub reports, and using cubes in reports Perform quality assurance testing for all reports, created or modified and assists end users with acceptance testing.
• Optimizes reports to isolate problems or determine more efficient query execution methods.
• Creates and modifies report schedules in InfoBurst packages or Microsoft Reporting Services.
• Participates in quality assurance testing and peer code reviews.
• Researches and resolves reporting and data issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintains current knowledge of standard languages and coding methods. Suggests enhancements to departmental standards as needed and assists in the design of standard reporting templates.
• Provides technical assistance to others in the department on code development.
• Prepares required documentation as outlined by departmental standards.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, with 5+ years applicable experience in Information Technology.
• 3 to 5 years hands-on experience in a developer role, with core expertise in data analysis, query design, and reporting using Microsoft Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) in SQL Server 2008 environment.
• Report design and visualization experience required. Proficient in creating and modifying T-SQL queries and stored procedures in SQL Server 2008 R2.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts, terminology and architecture. Ability to use enterprise business intelligence reporting tools to develop reports from using large volumes of data and/or data warehousing tables.
• Experience with SSRS Business Intelligence Developer Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and/or other (non-Microsoft) reporting platforms required.
• Experience in relational and dimensional modeling a plus, ETL/SSIS experience a plus.
