We are actively seeking an
Aquatics Director
to help oversee our swimming activities.
Camp Aquatics Director Qualities
Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers while in or around the pool at all timesResponsible, Dependable, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situationsCurrent certification in lifeguard training or equivalentCurrent certification in first aid and CPR (advanced certification may be required based on camp location and site of delivery of aquatic program)Prior experience working with childrenPrior experience in Lifeguarding and/or Swim related instruction, requiredExperience in a management or supervisory position at a similar aquatics area of at least six weeks durationCamp Aquatics Director Responsibilities
Supervise and guard all swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followedAssist Camp Director/Staff with any pool related responsibilities as needed included but not limited to camper swim assessmentsWarn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policiesDirect swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditionsProvide rescues as neededAdminister first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessaryEvaluate conditions and monitor weather reports for safety and initiate aquatics emergency action plan as requiredInspect pool facilities, equipment, and water as well as maintain a clean environment in and around the pool area to ensure that they are safe and useableComplete other duties, as assigned
All applicants must have up to date Lifeguard Certifications prior to starting work.
Our camp is located at The Ridge Club in Sandwich, MA. Camp will run Monday-Friday from July 14 through August 15 - staff members must be available to work the full camp season. This Aquatics Director position has a working schedule of 10 - 15 hours per week or can be paired with a more consistent Camp Counselor role.
