What you will do:
Provides and directs preventative and restorative procedures in accordance with dental standards of care and PA license guidelines including but not limited to interviews and examines of scheduled patients. The dentist renders professional dental services to the patient population of Community Health and Dental Care, Inc.
Duties include but are not limited to:Interviews and examines walk-in pediatric patientsCompletes oral examination, dentition charting, and diagnosis for pediatric patientDevelops an individualized treatment plan according to the needs of the the pediatric patientReviews the treatment plan with the pediatric patientPerforms follow-up examinations on patients referred to dental specialistsPerforms emergency dental procedures when necessaryOrders appropriate radiographsInterprets radiographsCompletes prophylaxesPerforms conservative periodontal therapyPerforms fluoride therapyApplies dental sealantsCompletes routine restorationsPerforms emergency endodonticPerforms extractionsInstalls dental prostheticsProvides patient with instruction on good oral hygieneEducates patients in regard to dental health and education and the need for continued dental careComplies with OSHA regulations while performing treatmentAdheres to CHDC clinical policies as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual and Health Care PlanMaintains a high productivity level, based on CHDC standards, with respect to the total number of patients to which professional services are renderedMaintains a high productivity level, based on CHDC standards, with respect to the total number of annual patient encountersMaintains a high productivity level, based on CHDC standards, with respect to the average number of annual visits per patientDocuments the medical history of the patient at the initial examAcquires provider and patient signatures on the initial medical historyUpdates medical history and acquires provider and patient signatures annuallyCompleted medical referral when medical clearance is requiredCompletes and signs referral forms to dental specialists when requiredRecords legible progress notes in patient charts after each encounterDates all notes written in chartsSigns all notes written in chartsIncludes notations and copies of prescriptions in patient charts when medication is prescribedConspicuously notes medial alerts and allergies in patients chartsCompletes an encounter for each patient visitCompletes all patient billing information in a timely mannerAdheres to CHDC administrative policies as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual and Health Care PlanRequirements:
Qualifications, Education, and Knowledge
Graduate of an approved dental school.Possess current license to practice dentistry in the State of PennsylvaniaMinimum 1 to 3 years' experience as a practicing dentist preferred.Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills are required.This position requires travel to, but not limited to, all CHDC sites, including meetings, off-site retreats, conferences, workshops, and outreach functions.Valid PA Driver's License requiredMaintenance of state minimum insurance requirements.
