About the Job:
This position provides day-to-day management, programmatic leadership, direction, and oversight of New Moms' Workforce Development programs focused on supporting young moms as they obtain permanent employment or pursue post-secondary educational opportunities. This position works in partnership with the Bright Endeavor's team to ensure program goals and growth aligns with operations of a growing social enterprise. The Workforce Development Program Manager will champion all New Moms values including our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, in both strategic planning and performance. This position works at Bright Endeavors in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $66,000 DOQ
Key Job Responsibilities:
Program Management:
Supervises coaches to assure all contractual benchmarks are met within the Workforce Development programAssists the Director of Workforce Development to provide leadership and oversight of service delivery including program development, implementation, and supervision of staffResponsible for the hiring, training and supervision of a diverse teamProvides executive skills reflective supervision with direct reports and provide coaching to help staff grow as professionals and excel in their roleProvides coverage for staff who are absent or assigns to others when necessaryProvide indirect supervision of 12-30 temporary Production Assistants (participants) while enrolled in our 16-week Job Training programProvides professional development opportunities to team membersSupport staff in providing mental health case management and/or crisis response to participants experiencing emotional distress or mental health symptomsSupports overall outcomes and impact by strengthening coaches' work with participants reviewing and analyzing data from digital coaching tools, including by not limited to New Moms' app, survey platforms, resource hubs, etc.Works collaboratively with BE business team to identify gaps and needs to ensure high- quality coaching and manufacturing standards are metSupports the College Success pilot to monitor measures of success of participants persisting toward college degree attainment and/or long-term certification programs.Responsible for orientation of volunteers and interns involved within the Workforce Development programAssists with programmatic internal and external data management training, data entry, and compliance to ensure staff compliance with Agency and funder database requirements checking monthly for accuracy and completionResponsible for budget implementation and adherenceDevelops formal and informal relationships with community service providers maximize program capacityOther Organizational Leadership:
Upholds the New Moms' Executive Skills Coaching approach which is grounded in racial equityRegularly participates in agency and program staff meetings, as well as professional group seminars or conferences to enhance professional knowledge and job skillsRepresents New Moms in a positive and constructive manner in all interactions with participants, staff, board, government officials, funders, and community partnersCommitted to developing further as a leader by participating in the New Moms professional development model, demonstrating achievement in competencies defined by the agencyPerforms other related duties as assignedQualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required; master's preferredExperience:
More than three (3) years of relevant experience required; in training or workforce development preferredMore than three (3) years of experience hiring and leading diverse teams requiredExperience managing multiple funding contracts, WIOA and/or CDBG contracts experience preferredSkills/Traits:
Strong track record in managing a comprehensive and complex array of projects with intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a results-oriented approachExcellent communication skills, both oral and in writingProficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft software applicationsOther requirements:
Valid driver's license, with safe driving record and valid insurance; Daily access to a reliable car requiredMust have the ability to work evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of program
Work Environment: Individual must be able to stand and sit up to eight (8) hours at a time; be able to walk up and down stairs and be able to lift/move items up to 30-40 pounds or be able to perform these tasks with reasonable accommodations. The noise level and temperature in the environment may vary.
