Zurich North America is hiring an experienced Financial Institutions Underwriter (Senior or AVP) Middle Markets. This Hybrid role will give the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. This role will require you to be visible in the marketplace to meet with our agents and brokers and be in the office two days a week for team collaboration.
As a Financial Institutions Underwriter in Middle Markets you will handle complex new and renewal domestic middle market accounts and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the team. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting Team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills while building relationships with Select Brokers focused in the region. With more than 125 years of experience, Zurich has a broad and varied appetite for financial industry business; this role is an exciting expansion opportunity allowing for high growth potential and visibility & support.
This role will be filled at either Senior or AVP level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant's experience and skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
The Financial Institutions Underwriter is responsible for:
Serving as a customer industry advocate with a focus on improving the customer experience by understanding their risk and offering the best end to end solution for their insurance needs, specifically within P&C Financial Institutions including Package, Auto, Workers Comp and Umbrella lines.Using a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricingUsing risk insights, data and models to drive informed decisions at point of saleIdentifying gaps involves and aligning Zurich's products and value proposition to offer a solution that provides the contract certainty the customer needsDemonstrating strong analytical skills and executing as an innovative advisorUnderwriting, analyzing and generating new and renewal business.Market facing and production within the growing International divisionAdministering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rulesDeveloping and maintaining agency and broker relationshipsWorking within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments(Senior) Financial Institutions Underwriter- Middle Markets Basic Qualifications:
