Position Summary
The Director of Labor and Employee Relations is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Director of Labor and Employee Relations will oversee and manage all aspects of employee and labor relations, including collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance resolution, and compliance with labor laws and regulations.
This role will work remotely; however, the candidate must live on the West Coast (Washington or Oregon). Travel will be required, approximately 25%.
Position Specific ResponsibilitiesManages team of employee/labor relations specialists and serves as escalation point for investigations/grievancesDevelops and implements labor and employee relations strategies to achieve company goals and objectivesManages and coordinates collective bargaining negotiations with union representativesAdministers and interprets collective bargaining agreementsInvestigates and resolves employee grievances and complaintsDevelops and implements employee relations strategies to promote a positive and inclusive work environmentInvestigates and resolves employee complaints and concerns, including those related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliationEnsures compliance with labor laws and regulations, including FLSA, NLRA, and OSHAProvides guidance and support to HR COEs, operations leadership and field HRBPs on labor relations mattersDevelops and conducts training programs for employees and management on labor relations and conflict resolution topicsCollaborates with HR and other departments to ensure consistency and alignment of employee and labor relations policies and practicesAnalyzes and reports on labor relations metrics and trendsCollaborates with internal and external legal teams on employment litigationPerforms other duties as assigned.Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field: 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.Master's degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field preferred.Minimum 5 years of leadership in labor relations or contract negotiations, preferably in the healthcare industryExperience in a healthcare, hospice or home health setting preferred.Skills
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy.Other Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience in collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance resolution. Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations. Certification as a Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) or similar certification preferred.

Compensation range: $115,000 - $161,000 with bonus eligibility (10% short term incentive)
The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities
