Ascension Recovery Services (Ascension RS) is a recognized leader in the development and management of fully integrated behavioral health systems. We specialize in treating substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health issues, providing services across the entire continuum of care. Our work spans detoxification and residential treatment, outpatient programming, sober living homes, peer support, and workforce reintegration services. Additionally, Ascension RS operates under Wise Path Recovery Centers, offering intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and three residential treatment centers, with a new center opening in early 2025.

The Opportunity

We are actively seeking an experienced Admissions Director to build and lead the Admissions Department for several new facilities launching in collaboration with our clients. The first facilities will be located in Iowa and Indiana, with the goal to expand nationwide.

Position Overview

The Admissions Manager ensures that the admissions process is seamless, accessible, and client-focused for new clients, their families, and referring professionals. This role partners closely with facility leadership, including the Executive Director, Clinical Director, and Business Development team, to ensure clinically appropriate admissions.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with leadership to develop a multi-location admissions department supporting substance use disorder facilities.Facilitate complex admissions processes with multiple stakeholders.Manage private-pay and out-of-network insurance financial arrangements, including benefit verification.Conduct admissions assessments and make informed clinical decisions for client admissions.Maintain communication and documentation with referral sources.Work with Business Development staff to streamline referral processes.Coordinate insurance coverage verification, identify financial guarantors, and arrange payment agreements.Accurately document all interactions and maintain client records in EMR, CRM, or other electronic systems.Serve as a liaison between clinical/medical teams and families, overseeing admission logistics and travel coordination.Compile and analyze admission data to support operational strategy.Collaborate on revenue-generating strategies related to admissions and client capacity.Establish admissions best practices, policy, and procedures, and train staff.Lead admissions team members, supporting recruitment and performance management as the department grows.Be available for on-call support during evenings and weekends as needed.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social services, management, healthcare, or related field (5+ years of relevant experience may substitute for degree).Minimum 4 years' experience in admissions, business development, community relations, or operations within a behavioral health or SUD setting.At least 2 years in a leadership role, with a background in admissions or case management preferred.Strong understanding of Medicaid and commercial insurance payer processes.Familiarity with the substance use disorder recovery process.
