- We are delighted to be partnered with a leading RNG developer & owner/operator who are looking for an Energy Advisor / Carbon Management Advisor to join their team.About the Role
- The Carbon Management Advisor will conduct due diligence on nature-based carbon projects, design quality monitoring systems, assess renewable energy and low carbon projects, and support ESG reporting and data management.ResponsibilitiesInterpret technical measurements, report findings, manage CI reports, support low-carbon fuel transactions, and develop innovative products and services.Responsible for due diligence related to potential investments in nature-based carbon projects, including scientific research, quantitative analytics, and communication about project activities, assumptions, and impact.Design, plan, and execute key systems for ongoing quality monitoring and reporting for a diverse portfolio of carbon projects.Assess and implement renewable energy and low carbon projects.Support in ESG reporting and data management needs.Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise in the following clean fuels regulations areas:- Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS)- California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)- Oregon Clean Fuels Program (CFP)Communicate scientific or technical information to internal and external stakeholders through oral briefings, written documents, visual and verbal presentations, workshops, training sessions, etc.Run Life-cycle analysis and carbon intensity modelling.Manage and improve upon a system of ongoing monitoring to ensure that credits are delivering the desired impact in terms of carbon emissions reduction and carbon storage.Perform market research in keeping with company priorities and requirements.Must be comfortable owning end-to-end solutions and working independently, as well as communicating results to stakeholders possessing a range of technical fluency.Support and interpret the technical measurement component of RNG output.Report CI findings to the team and recommend actions to lower our readings.Manage the delivery of CI reports, establish subject matter expert practices to support low carbon fuel financial transactions, as well as have a key role in the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects.Ensure satisfactory quality and efficiency of carbon intensity monitoring measurements and data and innovate our monitoring processes to improve the data's cost efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.Review projects for various low-carbon fuels and interpret results.Develop and maintain CI tools to optimize LCA production and reports internally and/or prepare tools to support partners with project screening efforts.Prepare materials and assemble supporting documentation when needed for business partners.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as economics, agricultural science, biometrics, or analytics and ideally at least 5 years of work experience in, or adjacent to, the voluntary carbon market, engineering, environmental, policy, or compliance focused.Required SkillsDeep understanding of the mechanics of nature-based carbon crediting (methodologies, accounting, reporting)Demonstrated knowledge of scientific and ecological processes influenced by carbon project activitiesDemonstrated knowledge of statistical techniques and methodsExperience designing and implementing ideas as a sole contributor or member of small teamDemonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionallyClear and direct written and verbal communication skillsExperience in renewable energy, energy pricing, grid operations, energy managementExperience with carbon capture and CI modeling skillsExperience in programming is a plusExperience with writing clear concise reports outlining model outputs and market concepts.
