We are looking for a Medical Outpatient Manager! The Medical Outpatient Manager Provides quality patient care and management of all patients and nursing staff working in the Medical Outpatient Department. Functions in a supervisory capacity for ARNPs, nurses and medical assistants while maintaining a working caseload. Coordinates the activities of the nursing department, to include TMS, and directs, organizes, and assigns work to staff within the department. Serves as a backup for Medical Assistants and TMS.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions of the Medical Outpatient Nursing department. Hires, supervises, and evaluates the performance of ARNPs (in conjunction with the Medical Director), staff nurses and medical assistants.• Coordinates the activities of the nursing department, is responsible for scheduling and providing coverage, and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care and customer service.• Institutes
Synthesizes collected data to formulate clinical decisions regarding diagnosis, interventions and outcomes for patients.• Provides direct services to patients including education regarding medication and the monitoring of medications and lab work.• Orders lab work and process/review lab reports.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education:• Master's or Doctorate Degree from an accredited Program - DNP preferred.Licensure:• Licensure as a registered nurse and licensed as an advanced registered nurse practitioner as required by the state of Iowa.• Certified as a clinical specialist/NP and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner by ANCC or other accepted certifying body as defined by the Nurse Practice Act in Iowa.• Stay current with DEA certification (every 2 years) for the delivery of office-based opioid treatment as a part of MAT therapy.Skills and Experience:• A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the mental health field required.• 3 years' experience working in a management or supervisory capacity is preferred.• Organizational skills are required to plan schedules, coordinate services and coverage
