Summary / Role Purpose
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will leverage advanced expertise in High Performance Computing, Python scripting, and engineering simulation to provide top-tier technical support, ensuring enhanced customer satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing custom simulation applications, guiding technical activities throughout the solution lifecycle, and directly engaging with customers to address their needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide advanced technical support in High Performance Computing, Python scripting, and engineering simulation.
Develop, test, and implement application development processes for custom simulation applications and web-applications.
Lead technical activities throughout the sales lifecycle, including technology presentations, demonstrations, and solution deployments.
Collaborate with product development teams to translate customer needs into new product features.
Contribute to consulting services, and support marketing initiatives to promote Ansys products.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Required education and degree type: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0 in Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering or related field
Two (2) years’ experience in using and/or managing High Performance Computing systems such as LSF, PBS Pro, and SLURM
Proficient in Python scripting, particularly using simulation software APIs.
Basic understanding of engineering simulations including FEA and CFD.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3
2 years of experience in application engineering or customer support using engineering software
Experience or familiarity with DevOps infrastructure and processes
Knowledge about Cloud infrastructure particularly commercial offering such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
Basic understanding of software container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
