Localize is seeking an energetic, growth-minded Senior Backend Engineer to join our US-based remote team.As a Localize engineer, you’ll be responsible for the infrastructure, APIs, and databases that power Localize’s core product. You will lead the development of a scalable and performant back-end platform. We’re looking for a strong engineer with at least six years of experience who works well on a small team and is excited about impacting and improving customers' experiences.What You’ll Do:
Optimize, design and maintain document (NoSQL) databasesBuild and update APIs that power our front-endBe actively involved in architecture decisionsContribute code, both front-end and back-end, as needed to help deploy amazing featuresCollaborate daily with other remote engineers, product and customer-facing teamsParticipate in peer code reviewsHelp keep our product running smoothlyLearn new technologies, architectures and methodsSuggest improvements for our product, processes and technologyAssist in maintaining scalable, performant infrastructureOur Core Stack:
Experience with these specific technologies a plus, but not strictly required:JavaScript: React/Redux on Front End, Node/Express (REST APIs) on the Back End plus vanilla JavaScript in our SDKDatastores: MongoDB (Mongoose.js ODM), Redis, S3Infrastructure: AWS: Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Elasticache, Cloudfront, CloudflareTooling: Github, Jira, CircleCI, Jest, and many moreThis position is only open to applicants who reside in and are eligible to work in the US.Benefits & Perks:

To see our product in action, click any of those links and use the website's language switcher to switch from English to another language.Localize works by providing a code snippet (similar to the Google Analytics JavaScript snippet) that our customers add to their website/web app. The Localize snippet pulls in content from the page into the Localize dashboard where our customers log in to add translations and manage their content. Localize automatically deploys those translations to the customer's production site, reducing development costs and accelerating time to market.We are a team of ~20 people working fully remote.
