Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.
Newport News Shipbuilding, division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII-NNS) is seeking a Systems Architect to provide both functional and technical leadership for the planning, architecture and implementation of Siemens Teamcenter Architecture with NX. Our collaborative team is responsible for defining and developing the PLM Architecture and Solution landscape.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Teamcenter Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and manage a robust Teamcenter environment supporting enterprise PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions. In this role, you’ll work in a DevSecOps team culture, dedicated to continuous improvement, security, and operational excellence across Teamcenter application and infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in both Teamcenter administration and deployment, as well as experience in cloud architecture, automation, and high-availability system design.
Must HaveBachelor's Degree and 14 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 12 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 9 years of experience.
One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Design and architect Teamcenter deployment architecture and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with customer strategies, roadmaps, IT policies, and standards.
Determine infrastructure hardware sizing and storage needs, and develop architectural designs integrating across applications, systems, and platforms to achieve business goals.
Oversee Teamcenter installation, upgrades, and deployment activities, including using Deployment Center and integrating Teamcenter with other enterprise applications.
Build and support code pipelines, automate deployment activities, and maintain optimal system configurations for performance and reliability.
Ensure high availability of the Teamcenter system through redundancy, containerization, clustering, and failover mechanisms, and implement disaster recovery plans with regular testing.
Design and implement load balancing solutions to evenly distribute workloads across servers and minimize performance bottlenecks.
Identify and resolve performance issues across application, database, storage, and network layers, implementing tuning measures like database indexing, query optimization, and application server configuration.
Design and manage Teamcenter environments on AWS using CloudFormation Templates and develop automation scripts in C/C++, Python, Java, Groovy, PowerShell, and Bash.
Utilize containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift to support scalable and flexible deployment options.
Collaborate with IT, engineering, and program management teams to understand and meet PLM requirements.
An in-depth understanding of Siemens PLM Teamcenter Installation and administration is required.
