Position Summary:Our mission is to provide services that add value and improvement in support of patient care for UCI Health. As we work to advance modern processes and a clinically integrated supply chain, we provide a comprehensive set of services that empowers healthcare providers. We leverage technology to deliver accuracy and drive costs out of the supply chain by providing access to a broad range of medical-surgical products, inventory management practices, and expense management. We improve product and service utilization throughout our organization and above all else, ensure quality outcomes and customer service. We realize everything we do ultimately affects our patients' healing and wellness.The incumbent also spends the majority of their time (50% or more) achieving organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of subordinate staff, establishing departmental goals and objectives, and functioning with autonomy. The incumbent will manage the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives, ensuring subordinate supervisors and professionals adhere to defined internal controls. The incumbent manages systems and procedures to protect departmental assets, receives purchasing department / function assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review, while also directing purchasing staff to complete assignments using established purchasing guidelines, procedures, and policies. The incumbent may also perform more complex purchasing assignments within functional area of responsibility. The incumbent is actively involved in the acquisition of goods and services including equipment acquisition, contracting for professional services, design and / or construction services, business contracts, maintenance services, consulting and personal services.What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of the procurement functionSkills associated with directing supply chain function ensuring adherence to purchasing practices and guidelinesMinimum five years previous working experience in supply chain a healthcare environmentManagement skills required to lead department, including management of staff performance and development, team building and communications, resolution of issues and conflicts, review and approval of work, and hiring and training employeesDemonstrated work experience with e-commerceDemonstrated work experience using an automated purchasing/inventory control systemDemonstrated understanding of MS Office programs, including Word, Excel and AccessDemonstrated knowledge of end to end supply chainDemonstrated knowledge of business subjects such as purchasing, inventory systems & controls, and/or accountingDemonstrated effective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated effective interpersonal skills required in interacting with both internal and external resources across the health systemBachelors' degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to evaluate conditions of task assignments and make recommendations to improve, revise, and/or clarify systems, procedures, and policies, etc. to promote increased efficiency in assignments and department operations
