Job Summary:The Scheduler will play a key role in managing and coordinating patient appointments within a busy oncology practice. This individual will be responsible for maintaining physician schedules, handling patient referrals, and ensuring seamless communication between medical staff and patients. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in medical office scheduling, particularly in oncology or infusion settings, is preferred, but a motivated individual with a strong scheduling background will be considered.

Scheduler Salary/Wage:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Scheduler Duties:The essential duties and responsibilities include:
Answers all incoming calls; assesses callers' needs and directs them to the appropriate personnel.Schedules new patients and return appointments in the computer system following office guidelines.Cancels or reschedules appointments as needed based on physician changes and notifies appropriate personnel.Manages and enters authorization and referral documentation into patients’ charts and computer systems.Maintains physician schedules, including on-call, vacations, and meetings.Schedules outpatient appointments, testing, and hospital admissions.Gathers necessary pre-certifications for patient appointments.Handles new patient referrals, gathers necessary information, assigns account numbers, and schedules appointments.
Scheduler Required Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of medical office scheduling experience.Strong communication and organizational skills.Experience handling medical referrals, patient scheduling, and insurance coordination is highly preferred.Oncology or infusion experience is a plus but not required.
Scheduler Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.Comfortable with frequent phone calls and computer work.Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs as necessary.
Scheduler Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
