UCLA Lab School seeks a collaborative, innovative Principal well-versed in best-practice pedagogy to lead the school into its next chapters of success. This individual will oversee daily school operations, finances, fundraising, academic policies, human resources, teaching and learning, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is an experienced school leader with a proven dedication to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Principal include but are not limited to: Educational Leadership:

Guide the implementation of a progressive, inquiry-based curriculum. Prioritize a whole-child approach, with emphasis on social-emotional learning, diversity, and inclusion. Inspire students, teachers, families, and other partners. Faculty & Staff Support:

Lead and mentor a diverse team of educators. Address faculty needs in the classroom. Act as a coach and thought partner. Stakeholder & Community Engagement:

Foster strong, supportive relationships with students and families. Serve as a bridge between UCLA and Lab School faculty. Facilitate parental participation. Operational & Financial Oversight:

Oversee day-to-day operations, budgeting, and resource allocation. Coordinate with development staff for fundraising efforts. Strategic Leadership:

Support UCLA Lab School's mission. Develop and implement a strategic plan. Drive the vision for UCLA Lab School's success. Key Competencies

The ideal Principal candidate will bring: A minimum of five years of experience in educational leadership. Terminal or top degree in Education or related field. Professional fluency in Spanish. Experience with elementary education, including special education. Cultural competency and self-reflectiveness. Proven success in school-based fundraising. Experience leading change management.
