Technical Services Superintendent
to join us in our African Operations on a
6:4 roster . This role is responsible for assisting Site Project Managers and Mine Foreman with the technical mining issues on site and/or department, interpreting and analyzing mining physicals and site costs, and integrating with the client technical services department.Role responsibilities are:Comply with all HS&E policies, procedures, and instructions, including the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment, prompt reporting of any hazardous situations, and immediate reporting of any accidents or injuries.Comply with relevant Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.Take reasonable care for their own safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their acts.Ensure mining physicals are achieved as per contract/client schedules.Understand the site contract, variations, and management plans, ensuring AUMS compliance with these requirements.Meet client requirements contractually and maintain a favorable relationship with the client.Use analysis and implementation of cost reduction initiatives.Monitor production.Prepare monthly performance reports.Manage Quality Assurance Programmes.Prepare budgets.Assist with the preparation of monthly claims and interface with the Client.Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 5 years relevant underground mining experience.Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or First Class Mine Managers (FCMM) Certificate of Competency.Senior First Aid Certificate.Demonstrated experience in an assistance management role in a high productivity underground contracting environment.A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is prioritized for all employees.In-depth knowledge of
MinRep, Deswick, and Surpac
and ability to design and implement relevant templates for reporting and recording.Understanding of equipment and human resource capability and productivities.Ability to work independently and apply established standards.Ability to manage the mining contract and associated costs.Ability to communicate and liaise with employees and client site management.Ability to accurately prepare monthly mining progress claims and present them on time to the client.Ability to schedule labor.Ability to assess mining working conditions and environment.Understanding of the mine reporting system.Ability to train and mentor graduate and vocational engineers.Membership of a relevant professional body.Your proactive attitude to safety and driven work ethic will see you as a much-valued employee in line with AUMS’s values and ‘can do’ attitude, and will be rewarded with a highly competitive, targeted remuneration package, supporting our vision of a work-life balance in a strong team environment.A full pre-employment medical is required, including drug and alcohol testing, and site-specific clearances.
