Commensurate with experience.Job Description Summary:This position will provide civil rights support and guidance to members of The Texas A&M University System in matters concerning employees. Under the direction of the Executive Director, Civil Rights Compliance, the position will advise, train, consult, and implement civil rights policies, practices, and procedures across the System to advise members in civil rights matters for employees.

Responsibilities:

Monitor the System's civil rights and equal opportunity policies and procedures and provide assistance with correcting identified problem areas.Ensure a commitment to equal opportunity and monitor systems to measure accountability.Under general direction, facilitate the implementation of compliance, civil rights policies, procedures, and related activities/initiatives.In collaboration with OGC, review System member investigation reports related to alleged violations of civil rights laws.Provide feedback relative to the evaluation of allegations, appropriate investigative procedures, and compliance with System policies.Conduct assessments of institutional climates and identify member needs, as requested.Collaborate, consult, and provide technical assistance to System members, as requested.Maintain knowledge of all civil rights laws, regulations, federal guidelines and best practices for Systemwide integration and relevant implementation.Develop and deliver training and professional development sessions to promote civil rights compliance issues and processes such as the adjudicatory and appellate process, conflict resolution, and other areas that support a safe and respectful learning, working, and living environment.Advise members regarding the prompt, effective, and equitable intake, investigation, processing, and timely resolution of all complaints related to civil rights discrimination and/or related retaliation.Organize and maintain files, reports, and other records regarding civil rights compliance.Under general direction from the Executive Director, develop and maintain a stakeholder group of skilled and qualified employee relations professionals, providing them with guidance and training as required by law and a venue for the exchange of information and ideas.Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ten years in progressively responsible management positions specifically in employee relations or human resources and civil rights compliance.Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and other software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of local, state, and federal civil rights law.Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
