Your Role and ResponsibilitiesJoin IBM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) University Relations team in the United States as a Program Manager. In this impactful role, you will drive IBM’s CSR engagement across the US academic sector, focusing on empowering university students and faculty while promoting IBM’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. Your work will support IBM’s initiatives to bridge the technology skills gap, with a key emphasis on our flagship program, SkillsBuild for College Educators. Through this program, you will help provide institutions with IBM resources such as software, curriculum, faculty training, simulated labs, and more, fostering knowledge and responsible AI use in academia. As a Program Manager, you will develop and implement IBM’s US academia strategy, collaborating with academic partners and internal business units (e.g., Technology, Research, Cybersecurity) to align these initiatives with IBM’s priorities. Additionally, you’ll oversee regional academia program management, promoting volunteer engagement and supporting IBM’s strategic goals for workforce development.
Key Responsibilities:Lead initiatives that enhance student and faculty engagement with IBM technology (e.g., AI, Hybrid Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Quantum Computing) to advance IBM’s social impact in higher education.Infuse IBM’s expertise into academic programs through university curricula, volunteer trainings, and industry mentoring. Develop and deliver engaging workshops and integrate IBM’s training assets to maximize impact.Partner with IBM’s business and research units to strengthen institutional partnerships, boost IBM’s visibility in academia, and attract top talent.Collaborate with other IBM academia-focused initiatives to broaden IBM’s impact on US higher education.Engage with student associations to organize events leveraging IBM’s resources and subject matter expertise.Communicate program successes internally and externally, including on social media.Manage administrative functions in line with IBM’s university strategy, including operations, finance, and compliance.We offer a dynamic blend of personal flexibility and a thriving in-office environment. This role requires a minimum three days of in-office presence per week with the flexibility for remote work when aligned with the executive schedule and travel.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise- Proven experience leading large-scale national initiatives across multiple business units or domains, with measurable success.- Professional background in postsecondary education in areas such as academic success, instructional design, or STEM-related research.- Knowledge of STEM education and workforce development aligned with IBM’s technology areas (AI, Hybrid Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Quantum Computing, and Computing).- Familiarity with the US higher education landscape and existing networks within academia.- Strong strategic thinking, networking, and communication skills, with a professional presence suited to represent IBM with external stakeholders.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise- Deep understanding of STEM education and workforce preparedness, ideally in higher education or digital transformation.- Applied knowledge of CSR’s role in preparing students and faculty for a tech-driven future.
