Contract Specialist , you will:Perform the full range of pre-award or post-award activities utilizing various types of contracts such as fixed price, various cost types, requirements, performance-based, and multiple award schedules.Procure and plan acquisitions for standard or specialized items, services, or contracts where specifications have become standardized and established competitive markets and price competition exist.Develop, prepare, and issue solicitations and evaluate responses.Monitor contract performance and assist in contract termination through various forms of oral and written communication.Requirements:You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.Qualifications:Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is:Procure and plan acquisitions for standard or non-standard specialized items, services, or contracts where specifications requirements have become standardized and established competitive markets and price competition exist.Develop, prepare, and issue solicitations and facilitate the evaluation of the responses.Monitor and perform contract administration as well as contractor performance through various forms of oral and written communication.Specialized experience for the GS-11 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is:Experience using procurement regulations.Experience with contracting methods and contract types, such as fixed price or cost reimbursement.OR3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.ORCombination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement. Only graduate-level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. (Attach a copy of transcripts to ensure you receive proper credit).Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector, or
volunteer service .
One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
