Your Key Responsibilities
Implement and execute established purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence to Plant Purchasing and Supplier Quality methods, for the assigned area.
Own and manage plant-level purchasing metrics, focusing on value-addition (cost savings), supply chain risk mitigation, quality, and delivery, while maintaining and updating performance metrics across all purchasing activities.
Develop and strengthen the supplier base and purchasing partnerships for the assigned area, focusing on Quality, Cost, & Delivery (QCD) improvement, overseeing new supplier onboarding, maintaining relationships, and participating in make vs. buy and subcontracting decisions.
Plan, prioritize resources, and initiate improvement actions to support both internal and external customers, while optimizing budgets and processes in the assigned area.
Able to prioritize, make quick decisions, and take ownership of issues until resolved.
This position is accountable for leading the plant, while executing purchasing and supplier-management (SQE - ISQ) functions for the Wooster Plant.
There will at times be travel required for this position
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technical Field, or Supply Chain.
Demonstrated experience in a Purchasing Leadership position within a plant environment.
Self-motivated, driven, and assertive, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and impactful results.
Excellent written & verbal communications skills
Technical - Working knowledge of automotive industry - Business Acumen
Demonstrated experience in purchasing, negotiation, supplier management and/or development
SAP Purchasing/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience and Microsoft Office
Must be able to train, mentor and grow subordinates
