Overview
Support the Emergency Medicine Clerkship Director and Clerkship Co-Director to plan, organize, administer and implement the Emergency Medicine Clerkship (required rotation for all third year EVMS medical students).
This position requires a proactive ability to strategically assess and manage the operational components of a clinical rotation as well as coordinate and supervise the delegation of work relating to clinical rotations.
ResponsibilitiesIn the absence of the Clerkship Director and/or Clerkship Co-Director, respond to and resolve issues as raised by students, clinical sites and preceptors.
Provide other support for program development as directed by the Clerkship Director or Clerkship Co-Director.
Create student schedules for all learning/educational programs in advance of each academic rotation and disseminate to both lecturers/teachers and students to include but not limited to student morning report, simulation, weekly afternoon didactics. Reserve classroom/appropriate equipment in advance for lectures/teachers.
Monitor completion of preceptor (attending and resident) clinical evaluations of each student. Coordinate with preceptors as needed in order to achieve timely completion of evaluations.
Originate and maintain documentation/schedules for student and preceptor for each student placement to include but not limited to call schedule, team assignments, (approx.24-26 students every six weeks).
QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Education, Healthcare, Psychology, English preferred
Prior experience working in a multi-tasked workplace is preferred
Previous experience in an Academic Setting preferred.
