Summary/ Purpose of Position:The Inventory Control Specialist manages and maintains the raw material inventory, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and optimal stock levels. This role involves tracking inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth production processes.Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:Maintain precise inventory levels in the inventory management system by meticulously tracking inventory levels and updating inventory records as materials are received or consumed in production.Collaborate with pertinent departments to sustain optimal inventory levels by effectively communicating inventory needs, coordinating material deliveries and shipments, and proactively resolving any inventory-related issues.Conduct periodic physical inventory audits to ensure the accuracy of inventory records, meticulously reconciling any discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.Analyze inventory data to identify trends and patterns, comprehensively evaluate inventory management processes and identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.Organize and maintain well-labeled storage areas for raw materials, ensuring easy accessibility and inventory accuracy, while adhering to company policies for disposing of obsolete or damaged materials.Review and update inventory records as needed, including meticulously reconciling inventory discrepancies, and collaborate with the Inventory Control Operations Manager to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained. Organize and label raw material storage areas and dispose of obsolete or damaged materials in accordance with company policies.Ensure compliance with company guidelines and best practices for inventory management by diligently following established procedures and actively participating in training and development opportunities as required.Ensure a neat and tidy workspace by maintaining cleanliness and organization, keeping the area free of debris, and organizing materials and tools for efficient access.Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent2+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environmentStrong organizational and analytical skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to multitask and prioritize tasksExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of inventory management systems and best practicesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Physical Requirements:Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs., in a warehouse environment
