We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Platform Engineering Services Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.Coordinate and manage infrastructure upgrades, change management, and release management process across the platform.Provide primary infrastructure operational, optimization and engineering support for the public cloud platform.Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experienceDevOps and/or FinOps experience in a cloud environment and terraform.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.Experience in one or more programming languages like python, shell scripting, java, Groovy.Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methodsExperience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef for provisioning and configuration management.Understand containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.Proficient in AWS and on-premises infrastructure.Understand agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SecurityHands-on experience with observability tools and technologies, including monitoring systems (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace), logging frameworks (e.g., ELK stack, Splunk), and distributed tracing (e.g., Jaeger, Zipkin).Practical cloud deployment experience in AWS Cloud services and native data technologies such as AWS EMR, Glue, Lambda, MSK, RDS, ECS, EC2, EKS etc.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience with AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages.Experience with deploying to public and/or private cloud ideally with multi-cloud experience, ideally Cloud agnostic (Snowflake or another public cloud) and Active/Active across region designs, AWS Solution Developer, Solutions Architect, CKAD, DevOps, FinOps Certificates etc. is a plusFamiliarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub).
