This individual will join a team of engineers who pride themselves on analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the US Space Force's and its customers' needs.Venturi is a subcontractor to a company that operates, maintains, and sustains mission-critical systems to provide safe and effective launch, testing, and tracking of Department of Defense, civil, commercial, and international space lift vehicles. We support ballistic missile, guided weapon, and aeronautical tests and evaluations as well as support space situational awareness operations and experiments to defend the United States to ensure our nation’s safety. We offer our team of experienced, professional employees an environment of challenging, stimulating, and personally and professionally rewarding career opportunities.ResponsibilitiesPerform Microsoft 2003/2008/2016 systems administrator duties for a complex virtual enclave computing environmentAnalyze, log, track and resolve complex software/hardware anomalies pertaining to networking connectivity, printers, servers, and applications to meet mission needsCoordinate hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company/Space Force policyCoordinate and monitor troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioningRecommend course of action and implement as approvedPerform system backups and standard administrator dutiesInterface with all levels of RGNext, Space Force, Department of Defense, Eastern Range customers and managementReview system logs for vulnerability and optimizationConduct Information Assurance AssessmentsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired:BS degree in an associated discipline, (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of two (2) years’ experience with system administration and related Information Systems, Computer/Network SecurityExperience troubleshooting problems in a large complex environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2016 systems administration and networkingWorking Knowledge of Windows 2000, NT, XP, Win 7, and Win 10Knowledge of the following:San technology - storage - switches - Fiber channel and iSCSIWindows 2008/2016 Active Directory administrationVMWare Data Center Virtualization technologyRed Hat Linux 5 and its CLIDigital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Virtual Address Extended (VAX) Model 3800 computers and DEC Model 550 terminal server.DEC VAX/Virtual Memory System (VMS) operating system (version 6.1).Fortran 77American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) filesBasic Cisco IOS commandsExperience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting O/S and server applications such as IIS, SharePoint, and MS SQL server, preferredUnix system administration experience, preferredKnowledge of data communications protocols (TCP/IP); principles and practices of security implementation in the areas of data communications and information systems; PKI, data encryption, and encryption equipment, Firewalls; Air Force, and Department of Defense security regulations, and perimeter protection, preferredFamiliar with Information Technology on the eastern range; networks, servers, PCs, network interfaces, security concerns and postures, preferredAdditional Eligibility QualificationsDoD 8570 Certification (Security+ CE or CISSP or CASP), or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of employmentSome local travel may be required to meet critical operational schedulesThe flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends/holidays to support specific project or mission requirementsMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalizationValid U.S. Driver’s LicenseKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to analyze, provide and implement solutions for, and document, hardware and software problemsAbility to work in a fluid environment with excellent verbal, written, and organizational skillsAbility to interface with all levels of personnel in a diverse, team-oriented environmentAbility to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the publicAbility to meet deadlines under critical time and cost constraintsHow you’ll growAt Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
