Java Developer

Job#: 2054623Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our proprietary investment compliance application. This role will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the backend systems that support our investment compliance processes, with a focus on integrating with the Charles River order management system.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement Java-based microservices and APIs to support the investment compliance applicationIntegrate the application with Charles Rivers API and other internal data sources using technologies like REST, gRPC, and web servicesDevelop and optimize data processing pipelines, including the creation of lists for issuers, brokers, and securitiesImplement AWS-based infrastructure and services, such as Lambda, SQS, RDS, and ECS, to support the applications scalability and reliabilityCollaborate with the front-end team to ensure seamless integration between the backend and user interfacesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, adhering to best practices and coding standardsParticipate in an Agile development process, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration/deploymentProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team membersRequired Qualifications:3+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of modern Java versions (Java 17 preferred, Java 11 minimum)Proficient in Spring Boot and microservices architectureExperience with AWS services, including Lambda, SQS, RDS, and ECSFamiliarity with SQL and database design, including PostgresExposure to Python and React.js is a plusAbility to write clean, well-documented, and testable codeStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience working in an Agile development environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the investment management or financial services industryFamiliarity with investment compliance processes and regulationsKnowledge of Charles Rivers order management system and APIExperience with CICD tools and processes, such as GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, and FortifyExposure to HashiCorp Vault for secret credential management
