The VP Hub Operations is responsible for financial budgetary goals, effectively communicating safety policies and procedures, and developing leaders within the organization. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience within the aviation industry, perhaps having worked your way up through the ranks to your role as a leader. This position requires oversight of a fast-paced 24-hour operation, and to be an effective VP of Hub Operations, he/she must also commit to working rotating shifts and maintain operational visibility with all staff and business partners. Our next VP of Hub Operations will have a deep understanding of their competition and airport activities with opportunities to grow the business.ResponsibilitiesDirect and coordinate activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services.Manage all operational activities and multiple carrier contracts including conducting flight audits, station audits, and "at-risk" behavior audits.Communicate and instill safety awareness in all employees including new hires. Work in conjunction with customers to determine manpower requirements for group movements, peak travel holidays, out of scope, and flight schedule changes.Oversee recruiting and placement efforts to ensure staffing levels meet requirements and follow any instructions provided by the customer or their designee regarding standards, procedures, and practices.Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including FAA, OSHA, EPA, US Dept. of Labor, and EEOC.Investigate, report, and implement corrective action for any incident of aircraft damage or employee injury and conduct/participate in employee coaching and counseling as necessary.Coordinate purchases for operational necessities and monitor the impact of operational irregularities on such costs and ensure out of scope are documented and approved accordingly.Conduct weekly Lead/Supervisor meetings, daily briefings with GSE mechanic for equipment updates and timely repair, and participate in employee shift briefings and customer shift briefings or team meetings as required.Investigate all service failures and administer station operational plans such as deicing, FOD, safety, winter operation, and baggage plans.Perform routine visits to various authorities to discuss issues and concerns. Attend all local airport tenant, security and safety meetings.Ability to develop and mentor managers, supervisors, leads, and aspiring team members to grow their careers.Job QualificationsMust be willing to relocate or be located in or near one of the following cities: Jackson, MS; Louisville, KY; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; El Paso, TX; Memphis, TN; Minneapolis, MN; Philadelphia, PA; Omaha, NE; Birmingham, AL; Kansas City, MI.Bachelor's degree or appropriate combination of education and experience.5+ years in the airline industry.5+ years of experience managing and leading people with financial responsibility.Strong background and enthusiastic spirit in the aviation industry.Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices, financial concepts, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance.Executive presence and understanding of a large corporate environment.Large scale project management experience and experience managing multi-customer market.Strong strategic skills and business acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams to deliver high-quality standards.Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional, internal and external work relationships with all stakeholders.A sense of urgency and a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement.GAT Airline Ground Support is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
