Paygrade: $89,819 - $143,710

Purpose of Job
The Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing PR plans, media and reputation building strategies; and integrated communications campaigns to enhance the Hospital’s reputation locally, nationally and internationally. Serves as a key member of the Howard University Office of University Communications and the Adventist HealthCare Public Relations & Marketing Teams. Plays a key role in planning, developing and managing a wide range of communications strategies. The PR Manager will serve as a lead point of contact for all (internal & external) Hospital communications; will develop strategies to effectively engage and foster relationships with the news media; influencing key audiences through the storytelling of good works and community relations initiatives. Will work with the Director of PR to develop strategic communications plans that includes institutional positioning and messaging, media relations, issues management, and crisis communications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive brand awareness of HUH service lines. Work with senior leaders and department/service line directors to advance HUH’s mission/objective within budget.Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and case managers. Serve as a liaison between the healthcare referral sources and HUH service lines. Promote and educate healthcare professionals on the services offered at HUH. Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other potential referral sources.Analyze market trends and identify target demographics to tailor marketing campaigns effectively. Create compelling content for various marketing channels, including website, social media, and email campaigns. Monitor, track and analyze campaign performance to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and marketing.Represent the organization at community events, health fairs, and networking functions to raise awareness about HUH services.Develop and implement an effective fundraising strategy in line with HUH’s goals and objectives.Identify, cultivate, and solicit philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Oversee all fundraising activities such as annual fund campaigns, major gifts, and special events.Establish and maintain relationships with donors. Keep them engaged and updated about HUH's activities and progress, recognizing their contributions and cultivating them for ongoing support.Ensure all marketing and outreach activities comply with relevant healthcare regulations and ethical standards.Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field such as business, public relations, communications, advertising or nonprofit studies.At least three (3) years of fundraising experience, with demonstrated knowledge of donor cultivation and philanthropy in nonprofit organizations.
