White Castle is always looking for passionate, energetic, results driven people to join our teams, so apply to start your White Castle career today!The White Castle Corporate Counsel position is responsible for (i) claims and litigation management, including oversight of general liability, auto, employment, workers’ compensation, other corporate litigation matters and third party subpoena responses; (ii) preparing company responses to EEOC and other administrative agency employment charges; (iii) advice and counsel regarding regulatory compliance, labor and employment issues, audit responses, and policy development; and (iv) otherwise assisting Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel in providing legal services of a general nature to company management and protecting business and financial assets of the company.What we are looking for

Must have Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school;Active Ohio law license in good standing or active law license from another State and ability to qualify for corporate counsel registration with The Supreme Court of Ohio;Must have minimum three (3) years broad-based legal experience in numerous areas of law as a bar licensed attorney and legal advisor, either in-house, at a government agency, or at a law firm;Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills;Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with the company’s management, attorneys, staff, outside counsel and vendors;Demonstrated ability to problem solve and deliver creative, thoughtful and business-oriented results and appropriately balance risk in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment;Organized and methodical and able to effectively manage projects, audits and investigations, and craft workflows, procedures and processes;Potential to grow legal knowledge base and company understanding to become engaged in supporting additional areas of the business.What you will do

Assist with general liability, auto, employment, workers’ compensation and other corporate claims and litigation management;Prepare, implement, and monitor internal processes related to the proactive handling of litigation and claims;Direct and/or assist with the company’s response to discovery issues;Review and revise pleadings filed on behalf of the company;Engage in alternative dispute resolution efforts;Formulate and apply lessons learned from claims and litigation to mitigate risk going forward;Investigate and prepare company responses to EEOC and other administrative agency employment charges;Manage company responses to third-party subpoenas;Provide advice and counsel regarding regulatory compliance, labor and employment issues, audit responses, and policy development;Performance of other legal services of a general nature.Physical Requirements
