Position SummaryThe senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing month end close, monthly account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
The ideal candidate is proactive and a collaborative professional responsible for supporting the financial infrastructure.
This role will pay a salary of $58,656.00.
For FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 12 holidays)
This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.
Responsibilities
Preparation, review and posting of accurate and timely complex general ledger account reconciliations.
Monitor daily and identify, research, and reconcile account variances by conducting detailed analysis with a high focus on process improvement.
Participate in activities related to the month-end closing process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, variance explanations and financial reporting.
Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger records and reconcile cash, investments, prepaid expenses, fixed and intangible assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and intercompany accounts.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting deadlines.
Prepare and review schedules for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits.
Provide management with information for sound decision making by identifying issues and producing adequate management reporting.
Establish and maintain effective relationships by working cross functionally with other disciplines throughout the company providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
3-5 years of accounting experience in complex organizations.
Attention to detail with strong financial analysis skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and stress management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
Experience working in entertainment or venues is preferred.
Experience with ERP systems, with NetSuite preferred.
Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue.
Strong knowledge of corporate accounting.
Excellent math skills, high aptitude for figures.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast paced, team environment
