JOB SUMMARYResponsible for delivering improvement support to a portfolio of health system customers that may include inpatient units, procedural departments, ambulatory clinics, and corporate support services. Responsible for facilitating improvement projects utilizing a wide range of quality improvement tools that include those from Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management and Project Management. Works collaboratively with leadership, physicians, and front line team members to identify, coach, and support performance improvement projects and create ever increasing value for all key stakeholders. Project deliverables include improved performance in patient and team member safety, clinical quality, operational efficiency, patient and team member satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and financial outcomes.Acts as a change agent, providing direction to leaders and team members and gaining their support.Evaluate departments and services in an effort to define best practices and encourage positive and progressive change. Remain current on healthcare trends and advances.Define financial, operational, and clinical data necessary for evaluating change initiatives.Identify steps, tools, and training necessary to implement a process or structural change.Oversee functioning of assigned projects/project teams from inception to completion and continue to monitor for sustained compliance.Collaborate with executive leadership to access necessary resources.Manage resources, process and quality assurance of projects within scope of responsibility.Develop and update the ongoing management plan.Monitor and ensure that detailed project plans, reporting mechanisms, issue resolution processes, and communications are timely and meet quality and regulatory guidelines.Serves as a liaison to other quality and performance improvement department resources.Connects leaders and front line team members to resources for purposes of enhancing improvement efforts.Collects, analyzes and displays qualitative and quantitative data for purposes of identifying and understanding opportunities for improvement.Ensures alignment of improvement activities to support achievement of organizational goals.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field required. Master's degree preferred. Training in quality, performance improvement, lean methods, and/or statistical analysis preferred.Experience:
2 years of experience in a leadership position required; 5 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting required. Experience in quality, performance improvement, project management, and lean methods preferred. Must have experience in deployment of process improvement initiatives, and working on complex projects. Refer to life support training policy for additional details.Licensure:
Current RN, Respiratory Therapy, or other healthcare license in applicable state required. CPHQ required within 2 years of hire; Lean Six Sigma Green belt or higher required within 2 years of hire.Additional Skills/Requirements Required :Experience in quality, performance improvement, project management, and lean methods preferred.
