DUTIES
Provide 3D-S3D Plant Designer staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities includeengineering analysis; 3D Modeling using Hexagon's S3D software, Piping, Equipment and HVACmodules; design development; and, generation of design output documents. Prepare, review, andapprove design change forms, disposition nonconformance reports, review vendor documents andincorporate into 3D models and resolve construction issues.
Design services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will beprovided by SRNS.
Work Hours:
Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day,five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workdayhas 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at thediscretion of the Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education:
An associates degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 - 12 years work experience or 12 - 16 years of practical work experience.Position Specific: No additional requirements.
Experience/Skills:
Requires an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials,construction methods, and relevant computer applications. Applies advanced principles and practices inengineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner. Continuedupdating on new technologies and hardware in the industry is necessary.
Candidate must demonstrate 10 years of experience as a Plant Designer, including experiencewith site layouts, piping layouts, electrical commodity details, HVAC duct and equipmentlayouts, material handling, and vendor document reviews. Significant experience usingHexagon's S3D software, Piping, Equipment and HVAC modules is required. Working knowledge ofNational Codes and Standards for design such as ASME B31.3 and NFPA 101 is required.
Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering workbeing performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces andwork in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remoteareas, dressing out in protective clothing and environments where a respirator is required.Candidate must have the ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Area Security Access:
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. Anactive DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selectedcandidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.
Formal training in Computer Aided Design or 3D modeling is preferred.
Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.
