Black Girl Vitamins was created to fill this gap and provide a range of vitamins and supplements specifically designed for Black women. POSITION SUMMARY:
As our
Social Media Manager , you’ll be the voice of Black Girl Vitamins across all platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of Black millennial and Gen Z culture and the ability to translate that knowledge into compelling, shareable content. You’ll create, manage, and engage with our online community daily, driving visibility and fostering loyalty. From strategizing content to engaging followers, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our brand’s presence and amplifying our mission. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Engagement Connect with Our Audience:
Engage with comments on posts and ads, responding to every interaction to foster a sense of community. DM Management:
Handle DMs across platforms (Primary, General, Requests) to keep lines of communication open. Viral Interactions:
Engage with at least ten popular posts daily to boost visibility and keep our brand in the conversation. Influencer Outreach:
Execute DM activations to connect with potential partners and influencers. Content Creation Daily Video Production:
Record, edit, and post at least two lighthearted videos per day for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, capturing in-office and off-site content. Series Content:
Develop reels for our “On The Streets” and educational series, delivering fresh, engaging content to our audience. Event Coverage:
Attend brand events to create live content, sharing the excitement with our followers. Product Photography:
Take in-office product photos to support launches, reviews, and promotional content. Content Strategy Captions & Hashtags:
Write engaging, on-brand captions and conduct hashtag research to maximize post reach. Design and Editing Visual Cohesion:
Create eye-catching content with tools like Canva, TikTok, and CapCut, maintaining a strong color palette that resonates with our brand. Cultural Insight Stay Relevant:
Leverage your knowledge of Black millennial and Gen Z culture to create relatable, on-trend content. Trend Sensitivity:
Remain aware of viral and cancel culture to ensure all content is respectful and relevant. QUALIFICATIONS:
Chicago-Based:
Must be located in Chicago, IL, and available for in-office and off-site work. Experience in Social Media:
Prior experience in social media management, content creation, or a similar role, with an understanding of audience engagement and platform trends. Creativity & Communication:
Strong creative skills with excellent written communication, especially for engaging captions. Tech Skills:
Proficiency with Canva, TikTok, and CapCut; familiarity with color theory and visual consistency. Cultural Awareness:
In-depth knowledge of Black millennial and Gen Z culture, trends, and digital behavior. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
