Vice President Procurement POSITION SUMMARY: The vice president of procurement will be a strategic leader responsible for managing the procurement function of a dynamic industrial manufacturing company. This role will drive cost efficiencies, ensure supply chain reliability, foster supplier partnerships, and support the organization?s strategic growth goals. The vp of procurement will oversee all aspects of sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and procurement operations while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business goals, focusing on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. Lead cross-functional collaboration to align procurement objectives with engineering, operations, finance, and quality assurance teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions or strategic partnerships as needed. Negotiate contracts and agreements that ensure favorable terms, minimize risks, and drive long-term value. Oversee the procurement team to ensure efficient execution of sourcing and purchasing activities. Implement and manage procurement systems, tools, and processes to optimize spend visibility and improve decision-making. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve procurement performance. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including disruptions, compliance issues, and price volatility. Develop contingency plans to address potential supplier failures or material shortages. Drive initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) for materials and services without compromising quality. Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and emerging trends. Promote sustainable sourcing practices and ensure adherence to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members. KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS Experience in high-precision or aerospace manufacturing industries. Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent certification. Expertise in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor?s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields, with a focus on manufacturing industries. Proven track record of developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency. Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle). Knowledge of global supply chains, sourcing practices, and regulatory requirements. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
