Information Technology has been a key part of our success and is critical to our future. Working alongside a team of Software Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Product Owners, you will contribute to the continued growth and enhancement of the systems that drive value for our clients. You will have the opportunity to work with different portions of our systems and business, including UI/UX, back-end automation, and embedded business process improvement projects.What you'll be doingThe QA Intern will have plenty of opportunity observe as well as develop their own hands-on skills around tasks such as:Develop, maintain, and improve software and other technical solutions that solve business challengesFocus on overall product quality by performing manual and automated testingDevelop and maintain automation testsAssist with migrating systems to AWS and performing validation between legacy system and new systemResponsibly self-manage workload given project priorities, deadlines and deliverablesFollow established company standards and best practicesParticipate in code reviewsOther technical projects as assigned

What we needRequired:Current or recent enrollment in a technical school or college for a degree relating to Information TechnologyGeneral proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookAble to learn new concepts and adapt quickly to an existing, complex environmentNaturally curious, enjoys digging deep to uncover information and discover a solutionCollaborative by nature: seeks out the input and needs of others, shares insights and opportunities

Preferred:Previous IT-related internship experience related to Windows OS and ServersRecipient of the Milliman Opportunity ScholarshipKnowledge of C#, SQL, JavaScript, .NET Framework / .NET CorePrevious troubleshooting experienceExperience in environments subject to HIPAA and/or PCI regulationsUnderstanding of Agile practices (e.g. Scrum)

LocationThis position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI; however, this position is open to remote work. The expected application deadline for this job is January 15, 2025Compensation$19-$36 per hour depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.BenefitsWhen an intern, temporary, or seasonal employee reaches 1,000 hours worked within 12 consecutive months, they become eligible for a 401(k) plan with matching program and profit-sharing contributionEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off (PTO) starts accruing on the first day of work and can be used for any reason.
