WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This is the Nike matrix: You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support our partners within the Nike Women’s Sportswear team. You will collaborate with Design, Product Management, Technical Development, Color, Sourcing & Manufacturing. You will work to ensure a modern & forward-thinking approach to material development and materials performance when in garment form.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for an creative and curious Material Developer with a passion for textiles, print and pattern. The candidate will use their technical materials knowledge, critical thinking, and collaborative skills to deliver modern material solutions for our Women’s Sportswear Apparel product. Strong skills in textile and print development as well as an understanding of the product creation process will ensure delivery of exceptional product for our athletes*!
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
A minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience
Technical materials knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing techniques
Knowledge of knits, wovens, ribs, + print & pattern
Experience partnering with vendor to develop and test a material from inception to production
Experience working with performance & lifestyle materials is highly desired
Knowledge of industry material trends
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will explore newness & innovation in textiles and print/pattern for Women’s Nike Sportswear (including knit & woven tops, bottoms, and outerwear). You will collaborate with our product creation team partners to deliver on the highest level of athlete* experience. You will drive seasonal material development in partnership with vendors and manufacturing teams from concept to commercialization. This includes testing, tracking and creative material solutions. You will work on a commercialized materials palette grounded in our key sustainability goals.
