Job Description – Business Development Representative
The primary role of the
Business Development Representative
at Spherix Global Insights is to develop new business leads and enhance existing relationships through prospecting, research, and collaboration with sales teams. The Sales Director reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business leads and enhance existing relationships. Utilize prospecting and research tools, coordinate with assigned reps to qualify opportunities; prepare for and book pitch meetings with target prospects. Strategize with team members to innovate & improve the overall sales development process. Conduct sales development best practices on all channels to connect with new prospects. Work closely and collaboratively with the sales team to develop and implement appropriate prospect communication plans. Work internally with other departments to ensure proper quality and quantity of demonstrations. Stay up-to-date on pharmaceutical market trends, products, and services to tailor pitches and presentations. Identify and target potential pharmaceutical and biotech companies for market research services. Support the creation of customized proposals and presentations for pharmaceutical clients based on their research needs. Collaborate with research teams to ensure alignment between client expectations and deliverables, enhancing client satisfaction and retention. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Familiarity with CRM software and sales enablement tools (HubSpot). Strong research and prospecting skills with the ability to identify and qualify leads. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on persuasive outreach and relationship-building. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting senior sales staff. Self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards learning and improving sales strategies. Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry or market research preferred but not required. This position reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. Compensation package includes competitive salary and benefits (health, 401K), commensurate with experience, as well as variable compensation/bonus opportunity based on target sales achievements.
