ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Prepare standard and recurring journal entries
Reconcile cash transactions on a daily basis and prepare cash receipt entries
Prepare account reconciliations and follow up on any reconciling items, to include but not limited to understanding of cash, prepaids, accruals, contract access fees, lease accounting, and payroll accruals
Perform detailed analysis of GL accounts and trends documented in analytic files
Assists in gathering documentation for various auditors and requests by regulatory agencies
Identifies potential for automation in processes and provide suggestions
Understand and maintain accounting policy documents
Collaborates with others on special projects including current accounting system upgrade
Performs other accounting related duties as assigned by management
QualificationsRequirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
Experience in Microsoft Excel
5+ years of experience in accounting related position in government contracting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Self-starter with and solid communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA
Deltek Costpoint and/or Unanet
Understanding of government contract billing process
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:• Sitting for long periods• Ambulate throughout an office• Ambulate between several buildings
