We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join an established yet growing team of talented colleagues who are focused on delivering a quality, consistent product in our Azure Cloud environment with increased speed. The candidate must have strong experience and skills working in an Azure environment and be capable of sharing their knowledge and ideas effectively with the Cloud Operations team in a leadership capacity. Responsibilities:
Use Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) expertise to collaboratively work with technical teams to provide guidance and ensure systems and solutions are scalable, resilient, and reliable.Ensure sufficient logging, monitoring, and alerting strategies are employed around availability, latency, and overall system health.Monitoring, Alerting & Incident ResponseGather and analyze metrics from platform, operating systems, and applications to assist in performance tuning, fault finding and establishing SLOs.Effectively employ expert knowledge and share it with the Cloud & Development teams.Research and recommend new technologies for compatibility, expandability, automation, ease of use, and supportability.Create and maintain excellent documentation including workflows, procedures, and troubleshooting.Design & implement automation processes in appropriate scripting languages or tools.Support the day-to-day maintenance with a focus on reducing toil or technical debt of the applications while maintaining a high degree of system availability.Keep management advised of any on-going problems not being resolved satisfactorily or that prevent the fulfillment of responsibilities.Requirements:
2-5 years experience working in a Cloud Operations, Software Development, Dev Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure position/team.Proven analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills.Strong communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills.Proficient in one or more general purpose programming languages (Java, C#), scripting languages (Azure CLI, PowerShell, Python).Experience utilizing Cloud/IT Automation tools (Azure Automation Runbooks, Azure Bicep & Azure RM Templates (IaC), etc.) is desired.Experience with Cloud Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Application Insights, etc.)Must be able to see opportunities for improvement, take ownership and closely work with development team to drive product improvement.Passion for providing a great customer experience.Thorough understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
