Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a Senior Programmer Analyst to join our IT department. This is advanced technical data processing work involving the development and maintenance of highly complex computer applications. Work is performed under limited supervision. Responsibilities include: Conducts analysis of defined computer-oriented system problems and develops feasible solutions to specific problems in accordance with standard computer industry standards and technology. Develops computer system specifications for proposed solutions to information system problems and /or information systems projects. May confer with end users to determine feasible data processing solutions. Analyzes users' needs in order to develop functional specifications. Designs application systems in order to develop detailed design specifications. Maintains assigned systems and responds to system problems in order to ensure systems remain effective. Diagnoses, isolates, and corrects application software problems. Performs difficult and specialized programming assignments in order to ensure user application needs are met. Develops detailed project plans using standard project management tools. Utilizes effective time management while coordinating or working on multiple projects concurrently. This position is eligible for a 5% premium.
