IPL's 4500 employees also manufacture and market industrial chemicals and fertilizer products & services to customers around the world.What You'll DoAs the Payroll Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns. You will maintain payroll-related accounts and is responsible for the reconciliation and accuracy of one or more accounts within a complex accounting system. Other duties will include:Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure Safe Act Observations, Job Safety Analyses, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.Prepares materials for external or internal auditors.Coordinate with Tax Service vendor to ensure timely filing of state, federal and local withholding and unemployment returns quarterly and annually for multiple entities. Balance and verify W-2's for multiple entities meeting strict timelinesResponsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns.Responds to questions and special requests from employees and regulatory agencies, in researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.Amend and correct previously filed payroll tax returns based on adjustments that have been completed.Provides the research, investigations, and necessary reconciliation to respond to and resolve agency related payroll tax amendmentsInteracts with tax agencies, customers and other areas internal to IPL and Dyno entitiesSpecial projects and additional duties will be assigned on a regular basis
What We're Looking For:Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting preferred.2+ years of experience in similar roleExperience with workers compensation a plusKnowledge of payroll processing in the US and preferably CanadaKnowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Demonstrated experience performing payroll tax reconciliations and analysisProficient in Excel and WordAbility to negotiate positive resolutions with customers and payroll tax agenciesAbility to work independently and within a team-based environmentPositive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
