Galileo is an early-stage Series B business, founded in 2021 by Engineering Leaders from Google AI and Uber AI. Backed by tier 1 investors such as Battery Ventures, Scale Venture Partners, Walden Catalyst, and others with $68M in total funding.Galileo is poised to build an enduring business centered around AI/ML on unstructured data. The founding team spent years building cutting edge Machine Learning systems at Google, Uber and Apple. The big lesson was that models are as good as the data you give to them.In the era of Generative AI and LLMs, the tools that Data Scientists use to do evaluations of Language Models and Applications includes ad-hoc python scripts, Jupyter Notebooks and Excel sheets. This calls for new tools in the LLM development stack to mitigate data errors and biases, investigate regions of LLM underperformance, and help create high quality LLM based applications quickly via robust evaluation and experimentation tooling.Galileo provides an end-to-end platform for evaluating, observing, and protecting Generative AI (GenAI) applications. Their key offerings include:Evaluate
: A tool for building and iterating on GenAI systems, allowing teams to experiment and optimize their AI models efficiently.Observe
: A real-time monitoring and debugging solution for production GenAI applications, providing alerts about hallucinations and abnormal behavior.Protect
: A system that creates and manages guardrails to safeguard users from harmful outputs and protect AI systems from malicious inputs.Role DescriptionAs Galileo’s 5th Frontend Engineer, you will play a foundational role in designing, building, and scaling our products at the intersection of Data and ML.You will:Develop and Maintain High-Performance Web Applications
: Design and implement responsive, scalable, and optimized web applications using Next.js, React, & TypeScript.Optimize for Speed and Efficiency
: Focus on reducing load times, improving application responsiveness, and enhancing the user experience by employing techniques like code-splitting, lazy loading, and server-side rendering.Enhance Code Quality and Maintainability
: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code with attention to maintainability and scalability.Collaborate Across Teams
: Work closely with backend developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers to deliver cohesive, user-centered applications.Troubleshoot and Debug
: Identify and resolve performance issues, memory leaks, and bugs to ensure application stability and efficiency.Develop and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines
: Set up automated testing, build, and deployment processes to streamline the development workflow and maintain high code quality.Implement Testing and Quality Assurance
: Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, Playwright, and React Testing Library to ensure code reliability and functionality.Minimum QualificationsA startup mindset, biasing towards thoughtful action with minimal direction.3+ years of experience building UI for ML/data products.Experience building frontends for data products.Worked with React extensively and know the best tools in the ecosystem to manage state, hooks, component libraries, events, and content effectively.Experience building clear API-Client interfaces and enjoy working with product, backend, and design team members to build an awesome product.Extensive experience with git and GitHub – it’s almost second nature for you.Preferred QualificationsYou have deployed frontend applications to AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure (both dynamic and static frontend applications).Experience rapidly prototyping with Figma to exchange ideas with backend, design, and product team members. Why GalileoJoin a seasoned founding team that has previously led product and engineering teams from 0 to $100M+ in revenue and from 0 to 1B+ users globally. We obsess over our team’s culture driven by inclusivity, empathy and curiosity. We invest in our team’s development and happiness because our employees are the keys to our success and ensuring happy customers – towards that end, we offer:
