We're a team of passionate doers who are proactive and committed to collaborating with our colleagues to further position the firm as one that's modern and innovative.ROLE SUMMARYReporting to the Head of Brand PR and Social Media - and co-reporting into the Global Head of Internal Communications - this role is responsible for the firm's organic content presence across an array of social channels and optimizing accordingly based on performance insights. The right candidate will be creatively minded and will be responsible for optimizing existing strategy based on past performance, competitive differentiation, and the need to engage new audiences with the Morgan Stanley brand. You will lead a small team of social media content managers to ensure that all work ladders up to our brand platform, and therefore will be required to be proactive, collaborative, inspiring, influential, and motivating. This role will put you in front of stakeholders at all levels and across the firm and as such, requires someone who has experience successfully building consensus, and comfort speaking to audiences of all kinds. You'll do well in this role if you have experience working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders and integrating their inputs while also maintaining a top-down brand-level strategy. It's an exciting opportunity on a nimble, creative team to help shape Morgan Stanley as a house of brands positioned for future prosperity and engage a next-gen customer base.RESPONSIBILITIES- Execute on the firm's social content strategy, ensuring continued alignment with the firm's business strategy and brand platform to engage existing and new audiences.- In tandem with internal stakeholders, develop campaign strategies and tactics that differentiate the brand in the marketplace and modernize the firm in the process.- In close proximity with legal and compliance colleagues, provide governance support for how the firm, and its employees, show up on social in a responsible manner and maintain updated processes and procedures to support.- Collaborate with the brand team to further evolve our social media templates and create a consistent, visual identity for content that is unmistakably Morgan Stanley with representation for sub-brands (Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Eaton Vance, etc.).- Continue to evolve the manner in which we're speaking to audiences on social so that it's more conversational and accessible and look to create more content that is social first.- Partner with the team's firmwide social listening center of excellence through which we are monitoring net sentiment, competitor benchmarking, and social trends. Ensure we're staying abreast of issues percolating across platforms and evolving our content strategy accordingly.- Closely collaborate with the team managing the executive social media program to ensure a unified overarching narrative.- Lead Social Council to keep relevant stakeholders apprised of key social updates across the firm.- Champion a test and learn environment and lead the exploration of new social media platforms.- Motivate and inspire the team to continuously take our social presence to the next level and punch above our weight, in financial services and across industries. Stay abreast of cultural and market trends that can inform platform or content strategy in real time and longer term.- Build and maintain close relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.QualificationsThe successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience leading a successful social media team, preferably at an enterprise company or large agency. This will be a proactive, motivated leader with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, who can position Morgan Stanley effectively for the next-gen consumer. A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work across multiple projects simultaneously is instrumental.Additional qualifications include:- Subject matter expertise on best practices across social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, etc. - and an interest in emerging trends and platforms.- Proficiency with Sprinklr, Netbase and creating captivating content specifically for social.- Proven results building social following, engagement, and business impact.- Excitement and energy for pushing creative boundaries with an eye toward mitigating risk within the environment of a highly governed organization.- Exceptionally strong relationship management skills, experience working with stakeholders cross-functionally and in global markets as well as having previously managed a team.Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
