Legence, a leader in sustainable building solutions, is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join our Team. This critical role offers the opportunity to provide strategic legal guidance across litigation and labor/employment matters, supporting our rapidly growing organization.Responsibilities
Managing litigation: Handling litigation, pre-litigation, and arbitration matters for the Company.Labor and Employment: Working with HR department on labor and employment related legal questions and legal strategies.Developing legal strategies: Working with business leaders to develop and implement legal strategies.Drafting legal documents: Creating, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and other legal documents.Ensuring compliance: Ensuring that business practices comply with laws and regulations.Managing legal risks: Calculating and managing risks in litigation matters and other legal decisions.Advising management: Providing legal advice and guidance to management and other stakeholders.Collaborating with external counsel: Coordinating with outside counsel to ensure they represent the company's best interests.Monitoring legal updates: Keeping up with changes in laws and regulations, especially in the labor and employment context.Managing legal budget: Managing the litigation legal budget.Qualifications
A J.D from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.10+ years experience in litigation/labor and employment law.CA law experience preferred, but not required.In-house experience preferred, but not required.Knowledge of legal language and practices.Excellent communication skills.Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.Arbitration and mediation skills.A collaborative and business-focused mindset, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.We are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this position.Health and Welfare Benefits
