With a team of 50 across multiple insurance disciplines of Operations, Claim, Anti-Fraud, Finance, Actuarial and Data Analytics, we move quickly and have a clear line of insight into how we make an impact. With approx. $14B in reserves serving 300K policyholders, CNA’s LTC business is an important strategic priority for CNA.Consider this exciting opportunity as a Pricing Consultant/Analyst where you will drive strategy and execution as a member of CNA's LTC Inforce Management team. Come work in a highly collaborative environment with key internal and external business partners to support the risk management associated with CNA’s Long Term Care business.You will put your analytical skills to work providing quantitative support, analysis and research as you partner with the team to complete actuarial rate filings for submission to regulatory agencies ensuring exhibits are complete, timely and accurate. Successful candidates are technically strong, detail-oriented and have strong communication abilities. This role does not require actuarial credentials. However, this position may be adjusted to an actuarial role for interested actuarial candidates with the appropriate experience, providing access to our Actuarial Education Program. Applicants at lower experience levels will also be considered; position level will be determined based on qualifications.This position enjoys a hybrid work schedule determined by the needs of the business that typically consists of one day per week in our Chicago office.JOB DESCRIPTION:Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:Contribute to the development and execution of pricing strategies with a focus on driving profitability and other risk mitigation strategies for the LTC book of business.Compile data and prepare exhibits containing premium and claim statistics to state insurance departments, bureaus and other regulatory agencies. Efficiently prepare error-free state filing forms, actuarial exhibits, actuarial memorandums and supporting materials for regulatory filings.With little direction, respond to regulatory agencies' and bureaus' questions and objections after performing analysis, researching and/or gathering information from business partners. Makes recommendations to business partners to influence filing outcomes.Analyze and review financial data to help inform future business decisions.Drive process improvements to gain efficiencies, while creating repeatable and auditable processes. Ensure tools and processes produce efficient, consistent, and accurate information. Identify shortcomings with existing tools and processes and propose solutions.May participate in special projects.May perform additional duties as assigned.Reporting RelationshipDirector or aboveSkills, Knowledge & AbilitiesKnowledge of the insurance industry as well as understanding of CNA’s products, services, goals and objectives.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations and issues.Solid project management, organization, and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and bring items to closure.Ability to exercise independent judgment and make critical business decisions effectively within scope of authority based on data analyses and reviews.Ability to comprehend business data and metrics and to further articulate analyses of actuarial data within internal reports.Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.Not required, but a plus: Knowledge of programming and/or data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, SAS/SQL/R.Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.Typically three to five years of related work experience.
